A Prayer

In the quiet –
that unlikely moment
and rare,
Comes a word, a cry
and a prayer . . .

Seeking to be heard
and not only heard quietly
as a whisper,
but as a shout, an
announcement for all to hear.

God is good!

You are good!

Even though many un-goods
strut around, stomping down
God’s good creation, this
is not reason to silence
this annunciation.

Rather the words,
the cries, the plea must
be stronger, braver, louder, bolder!
Rising voice and raising hands, to our
feet we must stand!

Upright – wading through
the carnage and debris left
in un-good’s wake.
Only Good can undo
the damage of un-good!
